1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Kala Kalpataruvu (the "Platform", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. What Kala Kalpataruvu is
Kala Kalpataruvu is an online marketplace that connects students with teachers of Indian classical arts (dance, music, instrumental traditions). We facilitate discovery, scheduling, and payment for one-on-one online classes. We are not the teacher, the school, or the educational provider. We do not provide instruction directly.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must register on your behalf and supervise your use of the Platform. By creating an account, you confirm that all information you provide is true and accurate.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including maintaining the confidentiality of your password. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate your account if we suspect fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms.
5. Booking and payments
When you book a class, you agree to pay the displayed class fee, inclusive of our platform fee (default 10%). Payments are processed by Razorpay. Kala Kalpataruvu does not store full card details. Successful payments confirm your booking; failed payments leave the slot open. All amounts are in Indian Rupees (INR).
6. Cancellations and refunds
Student-initiated cancellations:
- More than 24 hours before class start: full refund (within 5-10 business days)
- Less than 24 hours before class start: no refund (the teacher has reserved time)
If the teacher does not show up or cancels the class, you are entitled to a full refund. Report the issue within 48 hours of the class time via support.
Disputes:Disputes will be reviewed case-by-case. We aim to resolve all disputes within 7 business days.
7. Conduct
You agree to behave respectfully towards teachers and other users. Prohibited conduct includes:
- Harassment, abuse, or discrimination of any kind
- Sharing inappropriate content during classes
- Recording classes without the teacher's explicit consent
- Sharing class access links or meeting URLs with non-students
- Soliciting teachers off-platform to bypass our service
8. Platform use only — no off-platform transactions
All bookings and payments between students and teachers introduced through Kala Kalpataruvu must occur on the Platform for a period of 12 months after the first booking. Bypassing the Platform with a teacher you discovered via Kala Kalpataruvu is a breach of these Terms and may result in account termination.
9. Intellectual property
All content on the Platform — design, code, branding, copy — belongs to Kala Kalpataruvu. Class content (curriculum, demonstrations, performances) belongs to the respective teachers. You may not redistribute, reproduce, or commercialize this content.
10. Limitation of liability
Kala Kalpataruvu is provided on an "as-is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kala Kalpataruvu, its founders, and its affiliates shall not be liable for:
- The quality, safety, or suitability of any teacher or class
- Any harm, injury, or damages arising from off-platform interactions with teachers
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
Our maximum liability for any claim will not exceed the total amount you paid to Kala Kalpataruvu in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kala Kalpataruvu from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your interactions with other users.
12. Modifications
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email and posted on this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. All disputes will be resolved in the courts of [your city, e.g. Hyderabad].
